What it is?

Also known as micropigmentation, semi permanent makeup procedures have been successfully undertaken  for many years by both celebrities and busy women creating makeup looks that lasts.   Pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin using a state of the art machine designed specifically for the cosmetic and medical market, which is very different to conventional  machines and inks used in regular tattoo clinics. The treatment lasts around 1 – 5  years depending of the technique used, however colour boost sessions are recommended every 12-18 months. The treatment must be carried out in accordance to strict  health and safety protocols using single use sterile needle cartridges.

Semi permanent makeup and who benefits?

For perfectly balanced and shaped eyebrows, for a lipstick that stays put  and for  non-smudge eyeliner  semi permanent makeup is every woman’s  answer.   Coloured pigments are implanted into the skin to replicate makeup that last 24/7, creating beautiful and fresh makeup looks that last all day every day, slowly fading with time.

What does a procedure involve?

On the day of the procedure, Katherine will take some measurements and discuss the shape which would be most according to your face as well as the colour which will harmonise with your skin’s undertones. when the costumer and Katherine are happy with the shape and colour, the implantation of pigment will begin, this normal take about 45min to 60min.  After completing the process, the aftercare will be explained. (the whole process takes about 1.5hrs)

.

Katherine will schedule a second visits to give you the perfect result (the retention of colour vary on every costumer, this depends of skin type, aftercare, livestyle, etc. for this reason some costumers may require an extra session at an additional cost of £70). During the second or third visit the color can be adjusted, made warmer or cooler if skin chemistry demands it.

Katherine works conservatively, so she will increase the definition of the treatment as the sessions progress. This can give a client time to adjust to the look of having their facial features refreshed with color.

Before and after pictures are taking on every session.

Are permanent cosmetics really permanent?

The cosmetics implantation technique deposits color pigment into the upper reticular layer of the skin and is considered permanent because it cannot be washed off. Unlike traditional tattoos performed on the body, permanent cosmetics professionals do not use traditional tattoo ink (dye). Permanent cosmetics pigment is more delicate and designed to work with the skin’s undertones. Every person’s skin is different in regarding pigment retention. Factors which effect longevity of permanent cosmetics are: color selected, age, thickness of skin, skin type, scarring of skin, use of skin care products, injectables, laser treatments, medication and sun exposure. You will need periodic refreshing of color, depending on how light the shade of implanted pigment, as well as factors mentioned above.

A General Color Retention Guideline is:
Blondes and light taupe shades may need to be refreshed every 6 to 12 months.

Mid-tone Browns may need a touch-up every 9 to 12 months.

Dark Browns may need a touch-up every 9 to 24 months.
